Yoga for the People Wellington is for every-body! All body types, all sexes, all ages, all ethnicities, all fitness levels are welcome at our studio. 

At YFTP we like to keep it real; real people doing real yoga.  We teach Bikram's beginning yoga, a therapeutic sequence of 'natural range of motion' postures designed to get you feeling good again!

It's hot, it's challenging and you won't regret it.

Our classes are accessible to everyone, beginners and more experienced students alike. It doesn’t matter how fit or flexible you are!

26 & 2 Bikram Method

Bikram hot yoga is specially designed as a therapeutic series to help you heal your body, recover from injury and generally get your body working top to toe and inside out!  You'll be amazed at the difference you feel in your body after your first class. 

We have the original Bikram 90 minute class and our lunchtime Hot 45 minute Express class.

New Hot Pilates

Using Pilates prin­ci­ples, Hot Pilates class is a chal­leng­ing, full body, low impact, high inten­sity work­out. It is per­formed on a yoga mat in a  'warm' room.  Hot Pilates strength­ens mus­cles and burns fat — all with­out the pound­ing of a high impact work­out. It is designed for all fit­ness levels.

Intermediate 60

A faster moving class which builds on the Bikram series. As well as the original 26 postures, Hot 60 includes sun salutations, arm balances, and additional postures to open the hips and hamstrings and work deeply into the nervous system.

Perfect if you are looking to challenge yourself, you’ll come away feeling strong, energised and grounded. 

Yin Yoga

A complimentary style of yoga where postures are held for 2 – 5 minutes allowing you to access the connective tissue, ligaments and joints. Practiced in a ‘warm’ room.

Introducing Claire Massey

Claire is the new owner of Yoga for the People.

I have been coming to classes at YFTP since 2006 and fully intend to continue for the rest of my life! Yoga is an amazing discipline of mind and body – as well as being the best exercise I’ve ever done and good fun at the same time. The people who practice and teach it at YFTP make up a wonderful community and I feel very privileged to be taking the studio into the next phase. In my day job I am a Professor of Management at Massey University where my current role is stakeholder engagement.

Treatment Room for Rent

We have lovely treatment room for rent at the studio.  Lots of natural light. We are looking for a complimentary Health practitioner to rent one of our rooms at Yoga for People Wellington.  We are looking for someone to be part of our Yoga and Wellness studio and compliment our other therapists - Insync Massage and The Acupuncture Woman.  

Ideally you will want to integrate into our community at the studio.  There is lots of opportunity to leverage our existing client base at the studio.

The room has fresh carpet and paint and new blinds.  It will be available unfurnished.

FREE 90 minute parking in the Top of Tory Retail complex car park.
